Kevin and Lyn met in seventh grade, and their adventure hasn’t stopped yet. Born and raised in Florida, their early life together was spent chasing the American dream up and down the east coast, including stops in New York City, Charlotte, and Charlottesville.
Kevin graduated from Harvard College and earned his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. His previous professional career focused on bond underwriting and trading and then providing merger, acquisition and capital raising advice to clients and included employment at SunTrust, Salomon Brothers, Bank of America and Wachovia.
Lyn’s a lifelong animal enthusiast who has worked in a variety of animal rehabilitation, care and research positions including studies of her beloved Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Bolstered by a BS degree from Georgia State University with a concentration in animal behavior, Lyn also brings experience from her work in the group tour industry.
Once sons Lucas and Ethan arrived, the Ryters put down roots in Atlanta, and in 2003 Kevin exited the busy lifestyle of the investment banker and with Lyn began planning what became The Lodge at Whale Pass. The whole family has embraced the Whale Pass experience, and the boys spend every summer working and playing hard on the lodge grounds. Today, you can fish on “lucky” Captain Lucas’s boat and reap the rewards of his knack of finding the most elusive catch. Once you’re back, chat with Ethan about your day, or the latest soccer and sporting news, over hors d’oeuvres that he’s prepared.
