Chitty Chitty Bang Barroll Brown

The Lodge at Whale Pass did it again. We presented the forum for yet another family to find a true respite from a crazy world. And this time, it was for a couple who does a pretty good job seeking leisure throughout the year. John and Abby Barroll Brown, residents of London (though she’s from Indiana), had the good fortune of visiting us from their vacation home in Aspen. Now this may seem a bit strange to some of our readers – leaving the vacation home to go on . . . Vacation. But you have to remember that we offer much more than a vacation. John pays the bills running CIT Group PLC (www.cit.co.uk), a UK based private equity real estate company. John has learned the importance of spending his income on experiences of luxury that pamper the soul. That’s why he finds it important to sneak away from the every day (even the every day summer holiday) to rejuvenate and reconnect. And as you know, Alaska, packaged in the Lodge at Whale Pass way, can certainly provide.

With two kids in tow for the trip, Jack and Jemima, the Barroll Browns squeezed in a full decompression in an adventure packed three days. Whether it was enjoying a quite stroll together on a remote island on the edge of the Pacific, reviewing the day (and the year) over a perfectly prepared rock fish caught earlier that day, or enjoying the exceptional Ashiatsu Massage offered by lodge therapist and yoga instructor Sally Martin, the Barroll Browns appreciated the break from all things electronic and time sensitive. This goes without saying just how much their two adorable children reminded us of Jemima and Jeremy from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Fortunately the Child Catcher’s route keeps him far away from our little Alaskan hideaway.
