The Lodge at Whale Pass is thrilled to host an exclusive event that blends the excitement of world-class poker with the adventure of Alaskan saltwater fishing. Hosted by John Wasnock, the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event runner up, this special occasion combines the thrill of high-stakes strategy with the beauty of Alaska’s Inside Passage.
Guests will enjoy interactive sessions with the champion, including tips on advanced gameplay, strategy discussions, and relaxed matches, culminating in a tournament on the last night. Whether you’re a seasoned player or simply curious about the game, this event promises a blend of entertainment, learning, and camaraderie.
Beyond the poker tables, you’ll enjoy daily guided saltwater fishing in pristine waters teeming with halibut and salmon. Encounter wildlife up close with bear- and whale-watching expeditions, push ice through a fjord to wonder at a majestic tidewater glacier, angle local creeks and streams for trout and salmon, and explore hidden coves and coastal wonders that define the spirit of the Last Frontier. After a day of exploration, unwind in the comfort of the lodge, savor gourmet cuisine, and share stories over a friendly game of cards.
Whether you’re seeking adrenaline-fueled experiences or serene natural beauty, this event offers a rare opportunity to connect with Alaska’s wild heart while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow adventurers. Join us for a celebration of cards, camaraderie, and the great outdoors—where every hand and every cast brings a new thrill.
